July 2004 Calls


2004-030 - July 04, 2004 - 360 South Delaware Drive, Williams Township - Dispatched with Station 28 for a dwelling fire. 28 Command arrived and reduced speed of all incoming units. 2311 was cancelled as they approached the scene.

2004-031 - July 06, 2004 - 74 Main Street - Dispatched for a vehicle fire with exposure. 2311 repsonded with a crew of 3 and found a garbage truck in the driveway of an apartment building, approximately 2 feet from the structure and under the 3 phase service wire to the building. Extinguisment could not be attempted due to the power line burning. The power line did burn through and come down, however since it was still live, we could not flow water because the water would have run down to where the wire was laying exposed. The driver of the truck was able to relocate the truck to a vacant lot down on Adamson Street, where the cargo was dumped and extinguished. Other units at scene were 2312, 2711, 2712 and 2786. Crews on scene for almost 3 hours.

2004-032 - July 08, 2004 - #9 Park Place, Williams Township - Dispatched with Station 28 for a dwelling fire. 28 Command arrived and found a working fire in a residence under construction in a new development. Engine 2811 dropped a 3" supply line at the entrance on Island Park Road and Tanker/Pumper 2812 supplied 2811. 28 Command ordered a full response from Southeastern Fire Station 62 and a Tanker from Steel City Station 63. 2311 responded with 5 firefighters and 2312 responded with another 5. Crew from 2311advanced an 1 3/4" attack line from 2811 to the rear of the dwelling and gained entry to the basement and knocked down the fire. Fire was declared under control within an hour of dispatch.

2004-033 - July 10, 2004 - 224 Berks Street, Palmer Township - Dispatched with Station 27 for a dwelling fire. 27 Command arrived and found a working fire in an attic. 2311 responded with a crew of 5 and assisted.

2004-034 - July 18, 2004 - Island Park Road, Williams Township - Dispatched with Station 28 for an MVA with rollover. 2312 was cancelled enroute by 28 Command.

2004-035 - July 23, 2004 - 3779 Sycamore Drive, Palmer Township - Dispatched with Station 27 for a possible dwelling fire. 2311 responded with a crew of 5 and was cancelled enroute by 27 Command.

2004-036 - July 26, 2004 - Wilson Area High School, Wilson Borough - Dispatched in place of Station 24 to set up a landing zone for PennStar III to transport a burn victim from a dwelling fire. 2311 responded with a crew and handled the assignment. After the aircraft left, 2311 was given a cover assignment at Station 24.

2004-037 - July 27, 2004 - 200 South Delaware Drive (PA Rt. 611 South @ Terry's Tavern), Williams Township - Dispatched with Station 28 for an MVA with unknown injuries. 2312, responding with a crew of 7, was cancelled enroute by 28 Command.

2004-038 - July 29, 2004 - Little People Day Care, 2853 Nazareth Road (PA Rt. 248), Palmer Township - Dispatched with Station 27 for a possible structure fire. Staff reported smoke coming from the roof. Initial report from first arriving police unit reported steam dissipating from the wet roof because of the sun. 27 Command ordered all units to hold at station, and upon his arrival and confirmation, cancelled all units.

2004-039 - July 29, 2004 - Morgan Hill Road in the area of I-78, Williams Township - Dispatched with Station 28 for an MVA, vehicle off the road into the woods, unknown injuries. All units cancelled prior to response when P.S.P. Belfast advised Northampton County Radio that it was a previously investigated disabled vehicle.

2004-040 - July 29, 2004 - I-78 Westbound, just west of the toll plaza, Williams Township - Dispatched with Station 28 for a fuel spill. After 28 Command received the update from Northampton County Radio advising that it was a passenger car with a gasoline leak, he cancelled 2311 just prior to response.
