October 2004 Calls


2004-063 - October 12, 2004 - Reda Furniture, 110 Main Street - Dispatched for an automatic fire alarm. 2311 responded with a crew of 3. Upon arrival maintenance personnel reported that a private contractor was cleaning up from the floding of September 18th, and dust caused the activation. Personnel on scene had already reset the alarm and they were notifying the alarm company to put the system in test mode until work was completed.

2004-064 - October 12, 2004 - Lafayette Ambassador Bank, 4001 William Penn Highway, Palmer Township - Dispatched with Station 27 for a possible Structure Fire. 2311 responded with a crew of 4 and was ordered to stage at the Arlington Street entrance. 2711 arrived first and investigated. There was an odor and smoke was visible coming from above the ceiling tiles. When scanned with a thermal imager, a light ballast was found to be in excess of 200 degrees. Crew from 2311 was assigned to assist in ventilation and after it was set up, we were ordered to take up.

2004-065 - October 12, 2004 - Reda Furniture, 110 Main Street - Dispatched for an automatic fire alarm. 2311 responded with a crew of 4 and upon arrival found the same detector was still activated from the dust.

2004-066 - October 25, 2004 - 408 4th Street - Citizen stopped at our station and reported somke coming form a residence in the 400 block of 4th Street. Northampton County Radio was notified to dispatch for a possible dwelling fire. Fire Police 2392 arrived at scene and reported the address of 408 4th Street and the occupants advised him it was burnt food. 2311 responded with a crew of 2 and on arrival confirmed with the occupant that it was burnt food only, no flames at all. 23 Command cancelled responding units and cleared.

2004-067 - October 26, 2004 - Spring Street & Center Street - Dispatched to stand-by for a possible aeromedical aircraft landing for a reported unconscious trauma victim. 2311 responded with a crew of 4 and assisted E.M.S. 27 at the scene. The patient refused treatment / transport and units cleared.
