Thomas joined the Fire Company on November 30, 1981.

Since joining he has served as Company President in 1990 and 1992, Recording Secretary in 1988, Relief Association Secretary / Treasurer 1988 to 1992 and has been the apparatus/equipment Engineer since 1989. He was promoted to Fire Captain / Training Officer on 29 May 2006. He was on the Building Committee for the 2nd addition on the social hall and Truck Committee for 2312.

He has training in Fundamentals of Firefighting, Advanced Firefighting, Structure I, Fire / Arson Detection, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Rescue Practices, Dept. of Health Basic Vehicle Rescue Technician, Dept. of Health Special Vehicle Rescue Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, CPR, AED, Hazardous Material Operations, Pump Operations, Rural Fireground Water Movement, Preventive Maintenance, Incident Command, Leadership I - Stratagies for Company Success, Incident Safety Officer, Aircraft Crash Rescue, Emergency Response to Terrorism, Educational Methodology, Response to Carbon Monoxide Alarms.
He also has both Pennsylvania and National Certification as a Firefighter I, Firefighter II and Fire Instructor I, and is a Non-Suppression Instructor for the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy.

Thomas has a wife Nicole a son Niklas and daughter Savannah. Thomas is employed by the City of Bethlehem as a Communications Supervisor.
